Posthoornkerk - Church

Built by P.J.H. Cuypers – the famous architect responsible for Amsterdam’s Central Station and Rijksmuseum – in 1863, the Posthoornkerk (Post Horn Church) is a transept basilica, meaning that the floor plan is laid out in the shape of a cross. The church features a cloverleaf-shared choir and two tiers of galleries.

Vredeskerk (Iglesia de la paz)

Amsterdam’s Vredeskerk (Peace Church) was consecrated in 1924. The design of the church was strongly influenced by Art Deco. The name of the church was already determined in 1918 (before construction had begun), in part to mark the end of World War I.

Huize Frankendael

The Huize Frankendael is a cultural hotspot for business and culture in Amsterdam. The complex comprises a brasserie, culture barn, music salon, high-tech boardroom, art room and a lush green garden with a bright terrace. The Huize Frankendael hosts various exhibitions, workshops, presentations, kids craft days, wedding ceremonies, scavenger hunts, films, inspirational meetings and informal theatrical performances. Grote Kerk

This Great Church, of cathedral dimensions, is one of Edam's proudest possessions. Its latest restoration took as long as 18 years, being eventually completed in 1980. 
It is not known exactly when the church was founded, but it was definitely after the Kleine Kerk and probably at the beginning of the 15th century. Edam suffered two very extensive fires in 1602 and 1699, both of which had apparently been caused by lightning striking the church tower.

Huis met de Hoofden

The House with the Heads is a large canal house at Keizersgracht 123 in Amsterdam, named after the six decorations in the shape of heads on the facade.

Ouderkerk aan de Amstel

Ouderkerk aan de Amstel is a quaint village located south of Amsterdam on the bank of the Ouderkerkerplas lake. The village dates back to the 12th century and is best known for its parish houses and Jewish cemetery.

Housed in an old school building, WOW combines a hostel with temporary housing for newly-graduated artists. Come to WOW for a 
dynamic art programme of exciting exhibitions, music and fashion shows.

Groen van Prinstererschool

This is the former elementary school where Johan Cruyff and brother Henny went. Since 1926 this building served as one of the most important elementary schools for the Betondorp district. Built according to the Amsterdam School style, the reformed Groen van Prinster School was also housed here as was the 5th Montessori School. Due to budget cuts, this school closed in 2013 to make room for living and working space.

De  Vrijheidslaan

De Vrijheidslaan

Vrijheidslaan is one of the important main roads in the famous Plan Zuid by architect Berlage. Together with the Berlage Bridge, the street forms the eastern access to the Rivierenbuurt. In the area on and around Vrijheidslaan you will find special architecture by big names from the Amsterdam School, such as Michel de Klerk, Piet Kramer and Margaret Staal-Kropholler, the first female architect to practice professionally in the Netherlands.

De Amstel van de Blauwbrug af gezien

De Blauwbrug (The Blue Bridge)

Crossing the Amstel, De Blauwbrug has connected the Amstelstraat with Waterlooplein since 1883. Before then many bridges had blue railings, a feature that the striking Blauwbrug takes its name from. While the blue railings have disappeared, you can still see blue in use on lanterns on many bridges.
