From Monday through Friday, Nieuwmarkt is home to a small market. On one side of the square, you’ll see a couple of stalls selling basics like vegetables, flowers and cheese. On Saturdays, the entire square is taken over by the weekly organic farmers’ market.

Head to the Kraaiennest Market in the Bijlmer on Tuesdays from 9.00 to 18.00. Discover an array of fresh produce, clothes, textiles and homeware goods at this colourful street market.

Japanse Delicatessen Atariya

If you have a hankering for Strawberry KitKat bars, there’s few other places in town that carry them, as well as all the other bizarre candy and cookies that only the Japanese can come up with. Pink Point (LGBTQI+ information centre)

Pink Point is Amsterdam's official LGBTQI+ information kiosk situated next to the Homomonument at Westermarkt. Pink Point provides information on the Homomonument, as well as general information on LGBTQI+ Amsterdam. Staffed by friendly and knowledgable volunteers, Pink Point has a wide range of information and flyers from local organisations, as well as one of the best selections of queer souvenirs and gifts in Holland.
