Living in Hilversum, the Gooi and Vechtstreek

Hilversum, the Gooi and Vechtstreek is a region filled with possibilities, whether you live there, work there, or even if you’re just visiting. It is a lively community of 250,000 residents and is brimming with creative companies, greenery and attractions.

One of the greenest parts of the Amsterdam Area

The area known as the Gooi and Vechtstreek is characterised by its lush surroundings, picturesque and historic villages, untouched natural spaces and beautiful lakes. Positioned southeast of Amsterdam city centre, the area is made up of cities and towns which include Hilversum, Bussum, Naarden, Huizen, Laren, Blaricum and Muiden – all offering a popular blend of upmarket luxury, traditional village atmospheres and modern living. The area has excellent public transport links to Amsterdam, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Utrecht, and easy motorway access for travelling by car. An abundance of space means that a diverse selection of housing options is available in the region, ranging from modern apartments to luxurious detached villas. The Netherlands’ media and entertainment industry is also based in Hilversum, providing career opportunities for 8,000 media professionals.
