Restaurant Wils
Restaurant Wils is located next to the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam, on the spot where the 1928 Summer Olympics took place and where the Olympic flame was lit for the first time in history. Based on the idea of architect Jan Wils, who wanted every resident of Amsterdam to be able to see the Olympic flame burning in the evening.
Team Wils controls the fire like no other
Now, almost a century later, a fire is burning again on Stadionplein. Restaurant Wils pays a culinary tribute to fire, the primal power of all kitchens. Surrounded by fireplaces, wood ovens and hoist grills, Master Chef Joris Bijdendijk and Chef de Cuisine Thomas Val work in the open kitchen on refined dishes straight from the fire.
Wils received a Michelin star in 2021, only one year after its opening.
The kitchen closes at 21:30 but you can stay until 00:00 when the restaurant closes.
