Skek
Skek stands for Stichting Kriterion EetKaffee (Kriterion Foundation Café). They have had their own place on Zeedijk since 2006. Skek is based on the ideal of the Kriterion foundation (which also includes the Kriterion cinema and Studio/K) to give students the opportunity to set up and run a business from A to Z. At Skek, they do everything themselves. From making food and drinks to designing posters and arranging performances. This cultural café has been around for 17 years and is a second living room to many.
Everything is seasonal and tasted extensively
The menu changes every season. This means that every three months the kitchen staff does a test cooking evening. After everything has been tasted, it is the guests' turn to taste and criticise the new menu during a tasting evening (keep an eye on our Instagram!). The result is a menu that's been pre-approved by many.
Just like the food menu, the drinks menu has also been put together and tasted extensively. In addition to the regular beer range, Skek offers regularly changing special beers on tap and in bottles. If you prefer alcohol free, you can of course also choose from a number of tasty soft drinks and various delicious wines.
