Winkel is known as having the best apple pie. They sell hundreds of slices everyday. But their eatery on Noordermarkt is so much more. You can have breakfast, lunch, drinks, and a simple dinner in this cozy corner café, or on the terrace on the square if you're lucky.
Markets and apple pies
On Mondays and Saturdays there is a market in the Jordaan and the apple pie rush is even greater than normal. For this reason, there is a special market menu on those days.
On other days you can enjoy simple, tasty dishes, such as roasted pepper soup, fish tagine, or a salad bowl, all at very reasonable prices.
