Lait de Choco

As Holland’s first vegan chocolaterie, Lait de Choco offers hand-crafted plant-based chocolate emphasising sustainable ingredients. With a menu that will have vegan sweet-tooths flocking, the chocolaterie prides itself on its selection of bouchées, (oval-shaped chocolate bonbons filled with praline), and boasts refined flavours such as pecan ganache + speculoos crunch, and matcha crème + lemon poppyseed. Stroll on over to the Czaar Peterbuurt, a lovely neighbourhood on the corner of Centrum and Oost, where Lait de Coco has its store, to curate your own bundle of bouchées.

Born from a pandemic craving for delicious vegan pastries, Margo's is a haven for those with a sweet tooth. Nothing goes to waste at Margo’s – leftover croissant scraps are transformed into beautiful brioche buns. The owner's nostalgia for his mom's recipes even inspired some incredible Cyprus-inspired creations, like the must-try Tahini Bun.

Saint Jean

Saint Jean has taken social media by storm with their undeniably photogenic vegan pastries, particularly their famous pistachio cruffin. But what many people don’t know is that they also have a deli with savoury goods, just across the street. Fresh focaccia sandwiches with roasted eggplant, red pesto, and a vegan "gouda" or savoury buns with garlic butter and herbs, are just an example of what you can expect to find there.
