Social enterprise Swink collaborates with PwC Nederland

Find out how Amsterdam Impact facilitated a collaboration between Swink, a digital agency that champions people with autism, and PwC Nederland, which is one of the world's four largest assurance, tax and advisory services firms.

Amsterdam Impact creates opportunities for social collaboration

The City of Amsterdam’s social entrepreneurship programme, Amsterdam Impact, works to ensure that businesses with a social mission are getting the help and guidance they deserve. And one of the ways the municipality supports social entrepreneurs is by introducing them to innovative companies that want to contribute to solving society’s challenges, through purchasing products and services with a positive impact.

Amsterdam-based social enterprise Swink, which is Old English for ‘strenuous labour’, gives people usually excluded from the job market an outlet for their ambitions and abilities. Most of Swink’s employees have a form of autism, such as Asperger’s, and have found in this digital agency a supportive environment where they can use their above-average intelligence and analytical skills on assignments such as building websites, SEO and social media management. Swink also prides itself on being a B Corporation alongside nearly 2,300 businesses around the world that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

Social enterprise Swink collaborates with PwC Nederland

During the June 2017 edition of Amsterdam Impact’s Buy Social series, hosted in partnership with Social Enterprise NL, Swink pitched its services to innovative companies who are keen to create more social value by purchasing from entrepreneurs who want to solve society’s challenges. And thanks to Swink’s convincing presentation, which aligned with PwC Nederland’s mission to build more confidence in our society, a new business deal was born. “We think it’s important to do good with social entrepreneurs, but in the end it’s also about the quality of the companies we work with,” said Jaqueline Marell, PwC's digital marketing manager. “We just had Swink rebuild our recruitment website; it was a great cooperation.”
