ROYAL HALL
Enter the Royal Hall through a vestibule. A room named after King Willem III, who granted Artis the predicate Royal Zoo. His portrait is still on display in the room. The Royal Hall is located on the ground floor of the Groote Museum. With its large windows, the Koningszaal looks like an orangery, with French doors opening onto Artisplein. Suitable for conference, dinner, party and reception. The Royal can form a whole together with the vestibule and the adjoining Tijgerzaal.
TIGER HALL
The eye-catcher of this room is the grand, 19th-century painting by Charles Verlat. The tension of the tiger pouncing on the buffalo is still palpable. Ever since the foundation of the museum, meetings have been held under the authentic chandelier, knowledge was exchanged, guests were received and dinners were held. The Tiger Hall has large windows and doors opening onto the Artisplein and is part of the Groote Museum. Step outside and see the stately flamingos and hear the golden-cheeked gibbon sing. This room is suitable for an intimate reception, dinner or meeting. The Tiger Hall can form a whole together with the vestibule and the adjoining Koningszaal.
BLUE STAR ROOM
Meet among hundreds of blue stars on the first floor of the North Pavilion. Open the doors to a grand 19th-century ballroom where the ARTIS board once welcomed King William III. The Blue Star Room is located on the top floor of the Members’ Halls North Pavilion, between the main entrance to ARTIS-Park and ARTIS-Micropia. Ideal for an unforgettable party, an inspiring meeting or an intimate wedding. The Blue Star Room can also be integrated with other ground floor rooms.
FOUNDERS ROOM
Hold your meeting under the watchful gaze of former ARTIS directors. This used to be the office of ARTIS’ founder, G.F. Westerman. This room has always been a place to organise, reflect and plan for the future. The Founders Room is located in the Members Halls’ North Pavilion and has its own entrance from the main square at the entrance to ARTIS and Micropia. The walls are adorned with portraits of all former ARTIS directors. Ideal for an intimate meeting, dinner or reception.
BAMBOO ROOM
Hold your presentation in the middle of a bamboo forest with 248 bamboo stalks. This former deputy director’s room overlooks the golden eagles at ARTIS’ main entrance. You can now hold your presentations, meetings or consultations in the Bamboo Room. The Bamboo Room is located in the North Pavilion of the Members’ Halls. The wallpaper is inspired by the bamboo in ARTIS park. The walls are decorated with unique artworks from the ARTIS collection.
ARTIS PLANETARIUM
During the day, visitors embark on a journey through the planets and galaxies; in the evening, the Planetarium is a wonderful location to host your dinner, party or product presentation on a 360 degree projection screen. You can create a feast for the eyes featuring colourful animations on an enormous presentation screen, and dance in the centre of the hall on an elevated circular dance floor. Projections and animations can be created just for you. For example, we could put together a product demonstration, or a compilation of family photos. Naturally, we can also arrange for decorations, special lighting or catering at your request, or even organise a guided tour of the ARTIS Park prior to your event.
SEA LION GALLERY
Host your event right in the heart of ARTIS Park in the renovated Sea Lion Gallery. Dine or party with a view of the California sea lions. Create an underwater ambiance or tell your own story using the wall-mounted screens. By day, the Sea Lion Gallery is open to the public; in the evenings, it can be reserved for your event.
THE SERRE (ARTIS-PARK)
Surround yourself with colorful and edible flowers, plants and herbs at our drinks and dinner location The Serre. This location is located in a greenhouse hidden in the green. You can taste the fresh dishes outside on the terrace or you can organize your dinner in an intimate setting. The Serre can be booked all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and from Wednesday until Sunday after closing time of ARTIS-Park.
HUIZE WELGELEGEN
Huize Welgelegen offers an ideal venue for meetings of groups of up to ten people. The stairs in the hallway lead to all of the rooms, including the meeting facilities. The meeting room in Huize Welgelegen offers a view of the garden near ARTIS’ jaguar enclosure. The house is fully furnished, but please let us know if you have any special wishes. It can be yours in Huize Welgelegen, on the edge of ARTIS.
DE WATERKANT
Gather in the De Waterkant restaurant and look out onto the Savannah through the glass walls, or have a drink on the terrace, from where you can see the Asian elephants in the distance in their new enclosure. De Waterkant restaurant has floors on varying levels, making this location suitable for large events as well as a private reception. Hold your barbecue here on the terrace, or enjoy a few drinks after a lecture in the Lecture Hall.
