The National Maritime Museum

Amsterdam Map Fair 2024

The first international Amsterdam Map Fair will be held at the Scheepvaart Museum (The National Maritime Museum). The 30 participating map dealers from The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Portugal, England, United States, Germany, Italy and South Korea will offer for sale an extensive range of antique sea charts, maps, city plans of all parts of the world, globes and atlases.

Lisa Konno - The Porcelain Body

The Porcelain Body is the first solo museum exhibition by fashion designer and artist Lisa Konno (1992). For the exhibition in Museum JAN, Konno created new work in which she combines Japanese porcelain with textiles. With this work she reflects on beauty ideals in both Japan and the Netherlands and asks the question: when is a search for beauty a liberating form of self-expression and when does it turn into a form of oppression? A confusing boundary that is explored in a video installation and a series of objects that are somewhere between clothing and sculpture.

Anton Corbijn – MOØDe

The world of fashion through the lens of Anton Corbijn. From 22 December 2023 to 12 May 2024, over 200 fashion-related photographs by this leading photographer and filmmaker will be displayed at the Cobra Museum of Modern Art in Amstelveen. The MOØDe exhibition also features portraits Corbijn made of people like Kate Moss, Tom Waits, Alexander McQueen and Naomi Campbell.
