Reinwardt Academie
The Reinwardt Academy is part of the Amsterdam University of the Arts. They offer two unique programs.
Cultural Heritage
The Reinwardt Academy is a Dutch institution for higher professional education, where they teach programs in the field of cultural heritage. The school offers two programs: Bachelor Cultural Heritage and Master Applied Museum and Heritage Studies.
The school, named after the botanist Caspar Georg Carl Reinwardt, is part of the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK).
In 1976, the Reinwardt Academy began at the initiative of the municipality of Leiden in a former primary school on the Van den Brandelerkade in the Burgemeesters- en Professorenwijk in Leiden. From the early eighties, the program was located in the Pesthuis in Leiden. In 1987, it was one of the higher professional education institutions that merged to form the AHK and in 1992 it moved to the Dapperstraat in Amsterdam. From the 2015-2016 academic year, the Reinwardt Academy has been located at the Hortusplantsoen in Amsterdam.
