Doka

Doka, the Volkshotel's beloved basement nightclub, is widely recognised for its cool subterranean vibe and its inclusive ethos. Though its club nights feature some of the best musical talent from near and far, Doka also offers a host of cultural events like life drawing classes and album release parties.

Sexyland World

The weekend of 14 and 15 December 2024 marks the end of a chapter. SEXYLAND World will close its doors at Noordwal 1 in Amsterdam. In 2025 (hopefully they will be settled after that), SEXYLAND World will go on tour. Festivals, community centres, abandoned sheds, temporary premises - they will take their DNA with them and try to facilitate all the birds of paradise with their desires without limits.
SEXYLAND World is a completely new model art house; a labyrinth of diverse cultural, creative, and societal initiatives. It’s a cacophony of spaces and programs, with a single entrance and a shared vision. The building serves as a necessary place for cultural freedom, inclusivity, and creative experimentation. No closed doors, secluded studios, or offices, but 400m² of organized chaos.

Club John Doe

Underground electronic music fans flock to Club John Doe, which is tucked away in the ever-bustling Rembrandtplein.
