The Katwouder windmill, also known as the Kathammer, is a windmill in the Achterdichting neighbourhood of Katwoude village, just south of Volendam. It’s a polder windmill, meaning its function is to provide power to drain the local polder.
Guided tour by the miller
Visitors to the mill are given a guided tour of half an hour in which miller Roel tells of the history and the operation of the mill. The inside of the windmill can be visited under supervision and there is an opportunity to ask questions.
Please note that the mill is open between 1 April and 31 October and by appointment only.
