ThingsCon Salon - generative objects in the city of the future

ThingsCon Salon

Our digital life and life in the city are merging. Amsterdam is at the forefront of thinking about the consequences of this. There is a great awareness that urban and social life is increasingly driven by a digital reality. ThingsCon believes that this can also have direct consequences for the physical environment of the city. Generative AI is becoming part of vehicles and other objects in the city. This changes their behaviour. This is just the beginning. With this initiative we want to contribute to this discussion by inviting designers to shape this future.

Exhibition and workshop

This exhibition shows various objects from the near future, which work as provotypes that are provocations of the future. In this Salon we show the objects and enter into a conversation with the participants about a number of themes. The designers will present the provotypes. We also invite representatives of the city to name specific points of interest. In the workshop we discuss in groups which starting points we should have for this city of the future, in which we live together with autonomous objects.
