De Smoeshaan
In the predominantly old-fashioned space of theatre-café De Smoeshaan near Leidseplein, there's always a buzz. Between, before, and after performances, actors and visitors come to discuss their play or other topics. At the round tables, young and old mingle; it is a place where theatre veterans meet with theatre students. The walls are covered in posters of plays. You can also find good food here, from the fixed menu or one of the daily changing dishes.

With a sunny terrace on the water, an illustrious history and a great ambience until after midnight, it is a popular place to visit in Amsterdam. Located around the corner from Leidseplein, De Smoeshaan is ideal to combine with a visit to Theater Bellevue, DeLaMar, ITA, Paradiso, Melkweg, Cinecenter, Pathé City or De Balie.
For groups of 15 to 50 people, there is a separate room on the first floor that you can rent for a drink, presentation, or meal.
