Elephant dung is good for something...

At Wereldgroente Tuintjes, a former nursery, you can rent a vegetable garden in the greenhouse. Uniquely, elephant dung from Amsterdam's beautiful zoo, Artis, is processed into a rich fertile compost here. This magic fertiliser makes everything bloom and grow.

Magic fertilizer

At Wereldgroente Tuintjes, bokashi is made from elephant dung. What? Bokashi is the Japanese name for a fertile mix of manure, plant remains and micro-organisms. In short, it is a soil improver, based on elephant dung.
