Celebrate freedom at Q-Factory in Amsterdam East
Freedom is not something to be taken for granted. Q-Factory wants to give freedom a sound, and that is why they organize the Q-Factory Liberation Festival.
On May 5th it will be 80 years since the Second World War ended. Especially in this time of international tensions it is important to celebrate our hard-won freedom and Q-Factory does that with a combination of 3 very special acts.
Mell VF
Mix Booker T. & the MG's with Sly & The Family Stone , add Janis Jopli n as a singer and you know a bit about what Mell VF does. Mell participated in the TV program Beste Zangers and with her band she can often be seen on V andaag Inside . Mell is not alone, because she has two veterans next to her, who have played with everyone and everything: drummer Ton Dijkman and Hammond player Martin Scheppink give you a dirty load of rootsy rhythm & blues and soul.
Jett Rebel
Jett Rebel is musical, diverse and elusive, you never really know what to expect, except that you will be presented with a show that will resonate in your mind for a long time: 'I want to overwhelm the audience with my music, the less they know in advance, the better.'
After a successful theatre tour, he is now released again on the pop stages, with a lot of energy. If anyone takes and embraces freedom, it is Jett Rebel.
The Nobodies
They were one of the sensations at Eurosonic Noorderslag this year: De Niemanders. Rocco Ostermann (Donnerwetter, Shaking Godspeed) and Wout Kemkens (Iron Jinn, Shaking Godspeed) searched for musical stories from all over the world. The collective started in prisons, which resulted in a much-praised album and concerts. After that, De Niemanders visited asylum centers, looking for singers, musicians, their music and versatile stories. The collaboration with newcomers gives a show full of powerful, raw songs and danceable and stimulating elements.
