Liveurope
In collaboration with the pan-European platform Liveurope, the Melkweg will also offer a stage to emerging European talent this election evening, with the line-up including the Portuguese indie / groove / jazz band Casa Bonita . In addition, after their successful theater tour , De Electors will look back on the campaign surrounding the European elections.
In the Cinema , DutchCulture – Creative Europe Desk NL hosts two films, Green Border and Io Capitano , both nominated in the 'best film' category in the European Film Awards 2023. These films critically reflect on the EU's utopian Europe from a migration perspective. On behalf of Oxfam Novib, after Green Border, Bahram Sadeghi will discuss freedom, migration and the borders of Europe with Nugah Shrestha ( Political Youth ) and Hidaya Nampiima ( Amsterdam City Rights ). The talk is separate from the film(s), so everyone is welcome to join. Just outside the venue, visitors can have protest slogans screen-printed on vintage shirts and tote bags at the Oxfam Equality Hub .
The music program is made possible by Liveurope: the first European initiative that supports concert halls in the promotion of emerging musical talent from Europe. The film program was created in collaboration with Creative Europe Desk NL.
