FTD Film Festival
In September 2024, an important international medical congress will be held in Amsterdam on Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). This is a brain disease that Bruce Willis suffers from, among others. After Alzheimer's, it is the most common disease that causes dementia. It mainly affects people between the ages of 40 and 70, so relatively young.
The disease that Bruce Willis suffers from and the same one that Michel suffered from is a rare form of FTD.
There is a range of films and documentaries about FTD, for and by patients, family and their caregivers. In addition, the fact that Bruce Willis and his family consciously communicate about his illness has helped enormously to start the conversation about FTD in the past year.
That's why the FTD Film Festival , an ideal, accessible opportunity to make Amsterdammers think about FTD. A film or documentary with an introduction and a follow-up discussion with medical experts, those involved, relatives and care providers and documentary maker(s).
