Shadows and Reflections

A combination of light art, movement, and visual theatre invites you to a moment of pause and stillness. The shadows and reflections of the light are endlessly transformed by the passage of time. From the rising sun filling the space with rays of light to surreal images of infinite space and a setting sun in the bedroom, this choreography of light, sound, and material allows you to forget the time momentarily.

About the Creators

Tom Heintz (1992) and Jolein Kop (1995) are scenographers and theatremakers who focus on the small things in life to create moments that evoke wonder. Their diverse backgrounds—Tom in theatre and Jolein in experience design—came together in the Master’s programme in scenography at HKU, positioning their work at the intersection of theatre and installation art. For the duo Heintz & Kop, theatre is the ideal space to highlight the ordinary and give it a voice. Here, reality meets their dream world, with theatre devoid of actors and text and light and material taking centre stage.
