Queertopia
A theatrical experience in a parallel universe where sexuality is a choice. Queertopia is a conversion machine; Whatever sexual preference you go into it with, you come out queer. Because sexual preference is a choice. At least, in the parallel reality that the makers sketch for you. Location: Spiegelstudio, entrance IJpromenade 2, Amsterdam.
Queertopia
You now have the opportunity to rediscover yourself!
In this immersive experience, you are taken into a magnification of the public debate surrounding love and sexuality: the LGBTQ+ lobby is in its heyday and their propaganda has penetrated the very fabric of society. The move introduces a new conversion method. You now have the opportunity to rediscover yourself and enter one of the conversion machines as a participant.
What happens when we shape a world where we don't try to define love and attraction when love isn't part of a political agenda? What remains is the realization that our diversity is our strength. That we don't have to grasp someone else. That we actually have more freedom in ambiguity.

Workshop of Woestijne & Luit Bakker
In Queertopia the qualities of Luit Bakker and Bart van de Woestijne merge into one. In her work, Luit attempts to break gender roles in a humorous but confrontational way. She is socially critical and looks for the vulnerability of herself and her audience. In Werkplaats van de Woestijne, Bart turns life questions into thinking experiences, in which you are forced to look for your answer to a big, impossible question. Bart peels political topics down to existential questions. According to him, we need to think more about ourselves in order to change.
