Kalpanarts: a unique blend of dance and cultures

Kalpanarts is a contemporary dance company with a diverse cast and following. Led by choreographer Kalpana Raghuraman, the company fuses Indian dance styles with urban and contemporary dance, creating a unique theatrical experience. Indian influences are reshaped and transformed, while traditions from around the world are woven into this energetic performance. Intricate footwork, expressive hand gestures, and powerful facial expressions mark the show. As a heartbeat, a strong musical and rhythmic element runs through the work.

Trust, vulnerability, and strength

Five dancers perform and are accompanied by the enchanting voice of Spanish singer Paloma Lazaro Arteaga. The production explores themes of trust, vulnerability, and strength. Inspired by Indian philosophy and the Hindu concept of Maya, the choreography brings an inner journey to life. With original music by Simone Giacomini, based on the Japanese mantra Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, and poetry by Pedro Salinas, Trust offers a breathtaking experience that resonates deeply with the audience.
