Service point for Amsterdam-based businesses affected by U.S. import tariffs
Is your company based in the Amsterdam Area and affected by the recent U.S. import tariffs? The City of Amsterdam would like to get in touch with you.
On 2 April, 2025, the United States announced new import tariffs for a large number of countries, including all EU member states. These measures are creating significant uncertainty for internationally operating businesses in the Amsterdam Area.
The following measures apply:
- As of April 5, 2025, a 10% import duty on many products will come into effect for a large number of countries
- As of April 9, 2025, additional, increased duties would come into effect for countries with which the United States has the largest trade deficit in goods. This would also apply to the EU. However, these were postponed for 90 days on April 9
The department of Economic Affairs of the City of Amsterdam is currently analysing the impact on affected businesses. Your input is essential to this effort.
Has your business been affected by these measures? Please fill in the form below. We will contact you to discuss your situation and explore possible support options from the municipality.
