The Spirit of Gambo - Fireworks in the Twilight

Exuberant playing pleasure, drive, and musicianship are the strengths of gamba consort The Spirit of Gambo. The repertoire includes music from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries by Dowland, Purcell and Bach, among others. The ensemble is an initiative of Freek Borstlap and Gesina Liedmeier, the other two regular players are Ivanka Neeleman and Thomas Baeté. The Spirit of Gambo performs in De Waalse Kerk.

Synesthesia presents Echonomist

The Amsterdam collective Synesthesia brings an adventurous night full of melodic techno to the Melkweg. The Greek DJ and producer is loved by an international audience for his tasteful releases on labels such as Innervisions, Afterlife and Kompakt. The groovy sounds of the emerging Belgian techno duo Kimman and Synesthesia residents Ides of March complete this night.

Amsterdams Bach Consort with Mozarts Requiem

Of course, the Amsterdam Bach Consort sings music by its namesake, but it does much more: old music is combined with contemporary music, commissions for new compositions are given and, in addition to instrumental ensembles, there is a collaboration with theatre and dance companies. With Bach as a starting point, the two worlds of early and contemporary music come together in a special way.

“I was truly enchanted by two great artists who, in absolute unity, overwhelmed us with beauty, brilliance, nobility and lyricism,” wrote pianist Bernd Brackman after an earlier concert by the violin-piano duo Jeroen Dupont and Ed Spanjaard in De Waalse Kerk. On Saturday February 17 at 8:15 PM they will perform a completely new program in De Waalse Kerk; with violin sonatas by Schubert, Fauré, Stravinsky and Ysaÿe, it promises to be another wonderful evening.
