Hotel Buiten
Not an actual hotel, but homely nevertheless: Hotel Buiten is a café and an urban beach – without sand, but with plenty of water to look at, provided by the beautiful Sloterplas lake.
Cosy refuge in Amsterdam's Nieuw-West
Hotel Buiten is a unique café-restaurant on the beach of the Sloterplas lake (and not actually a hotel, at least for the moment). It was developed by local residents and businesses with a dream of reviving a forgotten piece of urban nature. The stylish beach pavilion is mainly made of recycled materials and has great terraces outside. You can tuck in to a simple burger (meat or veggie) or toastie, or opt for beef bavette, risotto or scallops. The kitchen uses local, seasonal ingredients and prefers suppliers that offer opportunities to people who are disadvantaged in the labour market.
