In this Liberation Day workshop we play simple rhythms together, which we use as a basis for free play. Everyone takes turns to play freely, while the others support with basic rhythm. Join this workshop at Station-West Amsterdam.

Rhythm and free play go hand in hand
Free play may seem difficult, but with free play you are really free to play what you want. For example, you can limit your free play to one stroke on your instrument or you try to discover what you are going to do: everything is good and nothing is wrong! We play with our hands. You can choose whether you are going to play a conga, cajon, djembe or, for example, a shaker or bell.
You do not have to have a sense of rhythm or be able to play music. The workshop host explains how to get sounds from the instruments and how to get into a rhythm or how to get rid of it if you want to play freely
