The oeuvre of the Surinamese-Jewish composer René Samson is somewhat like a too well-kept musical secret. It is rich and extensive, the result of more than thirty years of composing: choral works, music theatre, and much instrumental and vocal chamber music. A large part of that oeuvre has been performed, and has always been received with great appreciation. René's music is deeply loved — by a select group of listeners and performers.

Since René's sudden death in 2019, the René Samson Foundation has been working to reveal the secret of Ren��'s music as often as possible. Among other things, by organizing “Samsoniades”, concerts around René's phenomenal chamber music. During this third Samsoniade edition, René will be flanked by two French colleagues: Maurice Ravel and Benoît Menut. A brand new solo piece for harp will be performed by the latter. Songs by Ravel will be performed (in addition to quotes in René's composition “Crossing lines”), accompanied by harp instead of piano ���� a line-up inspired by that of René's “Songs of Love and Merriment���.
