Alcest
Alcest was founded in 2000 by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Neige and joined by drummer Winterhalter in 2009. The French band is seen as one of the pioneers of post-black metal and the blackgaze subgenre.
The Chants of the Aurora
In recent years, Alcest have been exploring the conceptual edges of their project: fourth album Shelter (2014) saw the band move away from metal to explore a dream pop sound, while follow-up 'Kodama' (2016) returns to their earlier work. 'Spiritual Instinct' from 2019 combines the band's lighter and darker elements.
On June 21, their latest album Les Chants de l'Aurore was released, which the band will perform on December 4 in Paradiso during their only Dutch show of the tour.
