Grace Carter from Brighton uses sources of inspiration such as Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone in her powerful songs. She started making music during her school years and writing lyrics became her form of therapy - a way to discover herself. Identity is something she always comes back to in her lyrics. Growing up, she struggled with her sense of identity. Her music beautifully untangles and expresses these internal dialogues and struggles and incorporates them into beautifully woven pop music. This year her debut album 'A Little Lost, A Little Found' was released, which was awarded no less than 5 stars by The Guardian.
