James Smith
James Smith's music sounds like an old soul in a young body, thanks to his timeless way of writing. He taught himself to play the guitar from the age of nine by watching YouTube videos and playing covers of Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. The singer-songwriter from London could be found in pubs singing his songs from the age of 14.

Helping at the market
After a turbulent time at school, James was eventually expelled. No other school would take him, so James went to help his father at the market, then got up at 4am every weekday morning to go to work. It was then that music became even more important to him, providing a vital escape. From his home studio, James developed his skills as a producer, which resulted in his debut album Common People .
