Laura Dooge Quartet
Laura Dooge performs the jazz songs from the Great American Songbook, with the analogue romanticism of the past, in the world of today. Dooge sings them in such a way that you almost forget that they come from 1930: we still have 'a crush on you' and sometimes smoke too much 'at the end of a love affair'.

Band and guest soloists
With a great band and special guest soloists, the jazz clubs where Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan played come to life. A cheerful, light show full of virtuosity, brought to the here and now.
Music was a big part of Laura's (1995) life from a young age, but it wasn't until she found a Chet Baker CD in her parents' attic as a 14-year-old that she discovered what would ultimately turn out to be her great love: jazz.
Characteristic of Laura as a singer is her narrative quality. Her greatest inspiration remains The Great American Songbook where she endlessly draws on the pieces of George Gershwin, Vernon Duke and Duke Ellington. As a guest soloist with The Fried Seven, she breathes new life into the repertoire of the 1920s and in playing with the Dutch jazz band Vondelier she can fully express her love for the Dutch language.
In 2019, Laura graduated cum laude from the Conservatory of Amsterdam. In 2022, the jury of the Laren Jazz Award honoured her with the “Special Appreciation Award”. Over the years, Laura has already sung at the BIMHUIS, the Concertgebouw and the Grachtenfestival.
