Live at Our Place: Perselí + Tony Roe

For September's edition of Live at Our Place, NDSM Treehouse is proud to present a double bill of chamber songwriting and improvised excellence. With three voices and double bass, Perselí offers a variety of sounds and textures, passages that resemble modern chamber groups, and songs mixing folk music and environmental soundscapes. With Tony Roe, you can expect an improvised solo set with an innovative use of piano and electronics.

Live at Our Place

Live at Our Place is a series of monthly intimate concerts by Treehouse NDSM's musicians-in-residence. The industrial Pavilion building will be turned into the musicians' own living room, tuned each time to their own particular style and vibe. Grab a drink, sit on the couch (or dance!), and enjoy the tunes that their talented community is working on during their stay at Treehouse NDSM.

Perselí

Formed in 2018, Perselí is a trio based in Amsterdam and comprised of Fuensanta (vocals & double bass), Alistair Payne (trumpet), and José Soares (saxophone). They found each other in their respect for vulnerability, sensitivity towards sound, and the pursuit of constant discovery. Together, they create narratives that develop unhurriedly, imitating flowers, leaves and life without anxiety. The members of Perselí compose the music together, bouncing ideas off each other to bring to life a sound that is entirely their own, often improvising complete passages guided by texture and poetry.

Tony Roe

Tony Roe is celebrated for his innovative approach to making music. As the founder and leader of Tin Men and the Telephone, he has pushed the boundaries of traditional performance, integrating technology, multimedia, and audience interaction into his shows. Roe recently developed "Modular Piano”, combining modular synths and effects with acoustic piano for a unique audiovisual experience. ‍
