Opera Gala
Opera lovers, take note: the Opera Orchestra Detmold is coming to Amsterdam with highlights from the most beautiful operas. To conclude his second season as chief conductor, Swedish opera specialist Per Otto Johanssen presents a festive Opera Gala with his orchestra from Detmold. Six young top singers sing the most beautiful arias, duets and ensembles, and the orchestra also plays compelling overtures and intermezzi.
From Mozart to Verdi
The heroic operas of Verdi and Puccini are world-famous, but the irresistibly cheerful music of Rossini is also very popular. Of course, the French masterpieces by composers such as Offenbach, Gounod and Bizet should not be missed. And without an opera by Mozart, an Opera Gala would not be complete. You will hear the most beautiful fragments from crowd favourites by all these composers. From moving solo arias to the most beautiful love duets, culminating in the musical drinking song from Verdi's 'La Traviata', in which all soloists are featured.
