For his solo work, he drew inspiration from the music of Keith Jarrett and Ben Monder, electronic music and contemporary classical music such as Ravel and Hindemith.

Samlal has already released several albums under his own name, including his most recent release, Atma. Rigobert Dittmann of the magazine Bad Alchemy described this music as a radiant, light-hearted, and melancholic magic of light and harmony.
