Samora Pinderhughes is a versatile artist with an extraordinary story and even more impressive music. Hailed by The New York Times as 'one of the most affecting singer-songwriters today, in any genre' and by Forbes as 'a magical being', Samora shapes new worlds through his art, honesty and vulnerability. Whether he makes films, composes music, or combines both, Samora shares a conscious, delicate and sometimes even fragile vision of today's (American) society. In his lyrics and compositions he unfolds themes such as identity, race, masculinity and injustice. His sensitivity and vulnerability are expressed in his voice and compositions, which sound pure and deep, as if crying is never far away - also for the listener. After his special concert at Super-Sonic Jazz Festival 2022 in Paradiso, he returns to the festival this year with a brand new album in his pocket, this time in the Vondelkerk.
