Swallow the Sun
Finnish quintet Swallow the Sun, founded in Jyväskylä in 2000, is without a doubt one of the best death-doom bands of the past 25 years. The band combines classic doom with elements of melodic death and gothic metal, Scandinavian folk melodies and dark atmospheres. The new album 'Shining' is however the first step of the group on the new path to the unknown. What is known is that they will play in our Melkweg in May. You don't want to miss that!

Shining is an exceptional album, the band wanted to make more than just another doom record and ventured into unknown territory. For this they worked together with Grammy-nominated producer Dan Lancaster (known from Bring Me The Horizon).
Tonight you can enjoy 2 support acts. After a decade of silence, Finnish melodic death metal band Before the Dawn is back with a brand new EP Archaic Flame . The band also introduces a renewed line-up, including Juho Räihä, guitarist of Swallow the Sun. Stam1na has been one of the most prominent names in the Finnish metal scene for almost 30 years. They are known for their unique mix of thrash metal, progressive metal and punk influences.
