The Academic
Irish indie rock band The Academic made their breakthrough in 2017 with their song 'Bear Claws', which was largely due to its live music video in which the band made use of live looping. In 2018, their debut LP 'Tales from the Backseat' reached number one in the Irish Albums Chart.

Retro rock
The band is mainly influenced by the retro-rock of the 2000's, and are therefore often compared to bands like The Strokes. They also see artists like Talking Heads, New Order, and Elvis Costello as important sources of inspiration. After a support at Louis Tomlinson and their Melkweg debut earlier this year, the band returns to Amsterdam on April 24th!
