In the program Etudes let pianist Antonii Baryshevskyi introduce you to much more than just virtuoso etudes. You will hear etudes about time, about softness, about brutality, but always also about beauty. You will hear well-known etudes, such as those by Liszt and Chopin, but also lesser-known ones by, for example, Ligeti and the Ukrainian composer Lunyov. The latter wrote 'Memory of 25.05.2007', an etude about the sudden death of his friend, a pianist. Last on the programme is the Dutch premiere of TO ALL RESURRECTED (2024) by the Ukrainian-Dutch composer Maxim Shalygin, a very intense and powerful-sounding etude, which is part of the Fetus etudes cycle. Get ready for a special piano recital!
