About Word Up
Word Up Amsterdam is a platform and community that promotes social inclusion and diversity through spoken word poetry and creativity. Launched in 2015, Word Up unites people passionate about creative self-expression and encourages them to engage with the world around them and use spoken word poetry as an instrument through which they can explore and better understand their culture, their society, and ultimately, themselves.
About Unwanted Words
Stichting Unwanted Words Project is an award-winning platform for up-and-coming LGBTQ+ poets and Spoken Word artists in the Netherlands. It’s an intersectional collective working with a team of queer and non-binary BIPOC, Black, immigrants people. We celebrate queer talent by creating opportunities and spaces for self-expression, community gathering and LGBTQ+ storytelling. Our motto: Be safe, be queer and take care of each other.
