Founded in Brussels by brothers Yvan and Alban Murenzi, YellowStraps has been shaping hybrid neo-soul for almost 10 years. The two effortlessly combine warm, electronic beats with the essence of soulful hip-hop and jazzy sounds. Electric guitar loops, vocals and piano floating through UKG, 2Step and neo-soul infused drums: YellowStraps makes music that pushes the boundaries of genres. Yvan has chosen to continue the project solo, but he still manages to maintain the unmistakable original style of YellowStraps.

Slowdown (girl what's up)
Recently propelled by the track 'Slowdown (girl what's up)' released in November 2023, which gathered millions of streams on Spotify and millions of views on social media, Yvan re-appropriates the garage atmosphere he loves so much. He also decides to make it his own with his electric ukulele and its clone, which he materializes in his handmade videos. Early 2024, he remixed his own track 'blue', confirming his mastery of this hybrid formula between floating sounds and drums with a sound that reminds you of the UK.
