Delights for almost 30 years
Peperroot was opened in 1995 by two friends, Elianne and Sasja, who further developed their love for cooking while studying. Together with brother Bart, they wanted to create a place where work and home could be combined, and where both staff and people from the neighborhood could also come home.
They have realized that wish in a characteristic corner building overgrown by grape bushes on Amsterdam's Overtoom, exactly opposite the Vondelkerk and the entrance to the Vondelpark. The large Peperroot 'family' still lives on that sunny corner. They now have many loyal customers in and from the area and after years of catering for drinks, large parties and birthdays, almost every Amsterdammer they speak to has tasted something from Peperroot. They were proud when they were labeled 'Pearl among caterers' by Johannes van Dam in Het Parool.
