ENT - Stephan Reisig
ENT is a solo exhibition with the work of Stephan Reisig. The exhibition will take place at Beeldend Gesproken in De Hallen Amsterdam from May 16 to July 7, 2024. The drawings by Stephan B. Reisig are aesthetic and seductive. He ingeniously interweaves plant shapes, faces, hands and other visual elements.

About how humans relate to nature
With soft colours, clear contours and recognisable figuration, Reisig attracts attention and then confronts you with critical content. He reminds us that we are part of nature. In his view we are neither above nor below it. And when we disrespect her, she hits back with force. In his work he paints a picture of people who are fused with nature. The artist holds up a mirror to us and asks the question: Is this what we want?
The artist
Stephan B. Reisig studied at the Fashion Academy in Maastricht. After working for a short period as an illustrator for the fashion brand Fiorucci - which later became Gapstar - he attended the Gerrit Rietveld Academy from 1988, where he graduated with honors in 1990. His work is exhibited internationally and represented by, among others, the Beeldend Gesproken gallery. Reisig lives and works in Amsterdam.
