At a time when the consequences of wars in Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan and Congo are palpable, Em'kal Eyongakpa and Marcel van den Berg investigate the role of art in processing war and violence with camo/sound sculptures, paintings and ceramic works. On display in Metro54.
For(rest) Dub Dub Dub
For(rest) Dub Dub Dub, presented by Metro54, explores how art responds to the increasing uncertainty and fragmentation of knowledge in our world. This exhibition combines paintings, ceramic works, culinary practices, nets and sound sculptures inspired by the material culture of war economies and recent events in Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan and Congo.
Innovative perspective
Visitors are challenged to consider the impact of these wartime conditions through art that explores both camo and natural elements. For(rest) Dub Dub Dub offers an innovative perspective on how art can help us understand and process what is going on in the world around us.
