About history and stories that everyone needs to hear
Keti Koti Westerpark presents rich programming in the Meterhuisje as part of Amsterdam 750 years, focusing on the freedom struggle and commemoration symbolised by Keti Koti on 1 July. From the first Sunday in June, the community will come together at the ‘Bearers of Far’ ceremony, followed by the opening of an exhibition with Buro Stedelijk.
During the month of June, Keti Koti Westerpark offers a wide range of activities, such as ‘Soup & Dialogue’ on Wednesday evenings, where writers and artists share stories of freedom and connection. On Friday evenings, ‘Tori Neti’ is dedicated to family histories and stories that need to be told.
For children, there are creative workshops and storytelling activities every weekend. An important part of the programming is the Wowoyo market, where local entrepreneurs offer art, books and food. There are also ongoing neighbourhood walks and exhibitions. Keti Koti Westerpark invites everyone to come together, learn and commemorate, concluding with a celebration on 1 July.
