Reconstruction and Spatial Justice in Palestine
A critical seminar on the role of architecture in perpetuating spatial inequality in Palestine. With speakers addressing the political and social dimensions of reconstruction and resistance.
Reconstruction and Spatial Justice in Palestine
This seminar explores how architecture contributes to cycles of destruction and domination in Palestine. The reconstruction of Gaza is often presented as an act of hope and support, but in reality remains politically charged. International actors steer reconstruction processes, while the voices and experiences of Palestinian communities are marginalized. This program brings together architects and researchers to discuss the complex dilemmas of spatial justice. How can architecture be an instrument of resistance and emancipation rather than a means of control? With contributions by architect and artist Saba Innab, sociologist Muhannad Ayyash and moderation by researcher Nama'a Qudah.
