Our most intimate parts in the spotlight

In Schaamstreek, a collection of artworks is exhibited that relate to our most intimate body parts and things that are not normally talked about in public.

Why do we want to draw our genitals on walls, but we are not allowed to talk about them? Why don’t we talk about menstrual blood? In Pubic Area, our most intimate parts are put in the spotlight. The aim is to celebrate these often suppressed sides.

Hopefully it will spark a conversation about internalized taboos.

Media: Acrylic and oil paintings, photography, sculptures and paintings made with real menstrual blood.

Besides a big opening party on November 1st with a DJ and drinks, there will be other events during the 2 weeks of the exhibition. This will provide a platform for other local artists. Check out the Instagram for more details about this! (@schaamstreek_art)

The exhibition can be seen in its entirety on 1, 6 and 14 November. On the days in between, the exhibition can be partially seen in the public corridor, from 10:00-17:00.
