Special program

This year, in addition to films, there will also be street art and a hip-hop music performance. On Saturday, 24 August, ten local and internationally known street artists will come to paint live during the day. The result will be visible to the public all weekend. Rapper Kiddo Cee will also introduce his latest album, '1104,' with a live performance on 24 August before the main film, 'Straight Outta Compton.'

Friday 23 August:

Mother Suriname

This documentary uses unique archive material to tell the life story of a Surinamese washerwoman. The life story covers the period from the abolition of slavery in 1863 to Surinamese independence in 1975.

Saturday 24 August:

Straight Outta Compton

Drama in which five young men in the 1990s use candid lyrics and hardcore beats to express their frustrations and anger about their lives in one of the most dangerous neighbourhoods in America. Their music continues to influence contemporary society.

Sunday 25 August

The Braid

A feel-good movie in which the lives of three women from different parts of the world are intertwined despite major cultural differences. The film adaptation is based on the book of the same name by Laetitia Colombani.

All films start at 21:00, have Dutch subtitles, and are suitable for viewers aged 12 and over. Entrance is free.
