Festival on the roof of NEMO

From morning rave to children's lecture

Get ready for the Roof Festival on the new roof terrace of the NEMO Science Museum. The roof has been transformed into a green oasis with space for experiments, performances, and relaxation. All week long, there are activities for everyone: workshops, live music, guided tours, and experiments. You can also just come by to relax and enjoy the view with a bite and a drink.

Thursday 12 June

Start your day with a morning rave on the roof. Dance along to music from an AI DJ, eat something delicious and watch the city slowly wake up.

Sunday 15 June

On Sunday you can see the performance Opstand der onderkruipsels (4+) by Theater De Krakeling and De Toneelmakerij. It is about special insects and their role in nature. Children actively participate. During the Design Animals workshop, you discover the roof through the eyes of a worm, bird or plant.

Monday 16 June

Students from the Eindhoven University of Technology present the exhibition Art & Tech together. You will see interactive installations inspired by assignments from writer Aaron Schuster, designer Hung Lu Chan, and NEMO. As a visitor, you play a role in the artworks.

Wednesday 18 June

NEMO organizes a Children's Lecture for children from 8 to 12 years old together with the University of Amsterdam. Through experiments and assignments, the children search together with a scientist for the answer to a real children's question.

Friday 20 June

On Friday, the Roof Festival will close festively. Come dance to live music, swap clothes at the Swap Club, make something from waste and taste sustainable snacks during the vegan tasting.
