Discover frog ponds and bird groves, bee fields and seas of flowers
The city is busy, and the gardens are becoming increasingly paved. Residents in Amsterdam West are, therefore, working on their gardens and creating natural paradises—hidden green gems behind the blocks and busy streets. Some gardens have been there for a hundred years, and other gardens have recently been renovated. There are worm hotels, frog ponds, bee fields, seas of flowers, and bird groves.
The residents are often present at the Open Tuinen West day and tell how they went about it. It is a perfect opportunity to visit unique places in this part of Amsterdam, go on a treasure hunt, and enjoy. There is also a lot to do for children.
Entrance ticket €2.50, debit or credit cards only, no cash. Children and city pass holders are free. Start the day at one of the starting points; see opentuinenwest.nl/startpoints.
