Favourite comfort food dishes from the chefs of Okura
Serre's Thursdays make summer Thursdays in Serre Restaurant an unforgettable and unique experience. On Thursdays in June, July and August, chefs from various restaurants of Hotel Okura Amsterdam are guests in the kitchen of Serre Restaurant. In addition to the regular menu, they prepare their favourite comfort food dishes. On sultry summer evenings, guests can enjoy Serre's Thursdays on Serre's terrace on the water.
Chefs Andrea Ranieri and Antonio Castiello put the flavors of Italian cuisine on the menu, in July guests can enjoy the favorite comfort food of two-star chef Arjan Speelman and in August Chef Lodewijk Akito van Tilborgh created a Japanese menu.
June: Authentic Italy
During June, the Italian month, guests can taste the flavours of Italy in the heart of Amsterdam. Authentic and traditional Italian dishes are prepared. From bruschetta, fritto misto, spaghetti Frutti di mare, tagliata di manzo, to the classic dessert tiramisù.
July: Arjan's favourite
Two-star chef Arjan Speelman exchanges the kitchen of Ciel Bleu for Serre Restaurant on Thursdays in July. During Serre's Thursdays, guests are introduced to his ultimate comfort food dishes, such as Pulpo with black Paella. Prepared exactly the way he enjoys it and as only he can.
August: Japanese tradition
In Japanese cuisine, dishes are laced with tradition and special customs to offer guests an authentic taste experience. Serre's Chef Lodewijk Akito van Tilborgh, who previously worked in the kitchen of Yamazato, prepares his comfort food dishes during Serre's Thursdays.
